As far as the status of my Wikipedia project, I admit that I have some work to do. However, I know exactly what I need to put, I know that my sources are credible and true, and I am passionate about the article that I’m editing, so this is a fun, cool experience for me. So far, I have some information and extended details added to the three sections that are on the page that I’m editing. The additional parts that I need to include are the sources to every piece of additional information that I am including, which will be somewhat challenging, but doable. I am honestly feeling pretty good about my article because even though I’m not adding a ton of information, considering that the article is pretty niche and small, the amount of information that I’m adding will be a pretty big difference, which is why I am confident about it. Throughout this project, I have learned that Wikipedia is surprisingly super strict about where information comes from and credible sources, and it’s somewhat ironic because Wikipedia was always the no-go source throughout grade school and it’s been commonly known as a site that pretty much anyone can edit on. Not only that, but I also found out that you can go to a site, and click on the page from a different time, which is cool because you can see how different the sites look from the present day in 2026 to let’s say the early years of Wikipedia that were 2001-2003. I also learned some cool “number” facts such as that one editor has made over 47,000 edits to correct “Comprised of,” Wikipedia is used by 1.5 billion devices worldwide every month, and that there are over 280,000 editors who contribute to Wikipedia on a monthly basis as well. Wikipedia is one of the most interesting, recognizable sites of all time, and with the current project that I’m doing, I will have fascinating knowledge that I can use for the rest of my life.
